I trained on the Harrow Studio Pottery Course, 1986-8, and moved to Kington in 2006. I make pottery for the kitchen and table. I like the way useful pots enter our lives and live alongside us, revealing by slow release, their depths and detail. My favourite pots are warm and unassuming.
Domestic pots are transformed by use. The cup that was attractive but inert on the workshop shelf can come to life when it finds a home. It’s a subtle mystery – a source of fascination to me. The way pots (and of course, other objects and creatures) interact with us, affect us, console us, accompany us.
