Marches Makers Festival Artist 2019
Angela Soulier
There is a story behind each piece I make. The complimentary textures, colour andmovement in my work enhance the narratives I want to tell. I learnt my craft in Mexico with tutors from the silver mining town of Taxco. This and designing costumes and accessories for theatre, opera and film have influenced my work, together with an eclectic collection of materials which I began as a child and which has grown as I've travelled over the years. I mix these elements with silver, a wonderfully malleable metal, using various techniques to create unique pieces of contemporary, often sculptural jewellery and artefacts.
I prefer to manage my own work - it comes alive when it is worn and appreciated by others and I enjoy sharing this experience.
I have pieces in collections worldwide and have exhibited in the countries I have lived in over the years and am happy to continue this here in Herefordshire.
