KINGTON
The market town of Kington is situated in the Marches border county of Herefordshire between England and Wales.
Kington has had a long and sometimes turbulent history, lying west of Offa’s Dyke and east of the Black Mountains. This is mainly sheep country, although beef cattle do well here too.
There is a thriving livestock market in the centre of the town and we are proud of the number of small, independent shops and traders in our High Street.
You can buy hand-made crafts, pies, exquisite art, fresh local produce, hand-carved clogs, walking gear, old-fashioned sweeties and a fine cappuccino; find out about our history by visiting the Kington Museum; join in the local activities, walk, sing and dance; and so much more in this little town that packs a cultural punch way beyond its size.
There are plenty of places to stay, to eat, to relax and to refresh your spirit amidst some of the finest countryside in Britain.
