Meet the Marches Makers Team
Marches Makers is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation by and for artists and makers.
Here are some of the people who make the Marches Makers Festivals happen....
Patrick Conrad - Chairman
My professional background has been in educational management and project management in a UK and European context. I am now retired and taking the opportunity to make a contribution to community participation in the visual arts through my involvement with the Marches Makers Festival. |
Annie Gamble and Freya Gamble - Marches Makers Co-Coordinators
Annie and Freya are at the heart of the Marches Makers team - spending their time chasing us up, corresponding with artists, and organising all the things not being looked after by anyone else... and with such good humour! Contact: mmfcoordinator@gmail.com |
Rebecca Finney - Secretary
An artist whose practice includes making pictures and book art based on land, place, ecology and environment; organising exhibitions and leading participatory workshop activities. Part of the Marches Makers team since 2018. For the 2019 festival, conceiving, co-ordinating and leading LOVEkington, a community art project. Currently providing administrative and strategic support. |
Paul Baines - Workshops Coordinator and Baptist Church Liaison
As a member of the Festival Committee Team, I am organising workshops (and leading a willow sculpture workshop) as well as generally getting involved with various aspects of the Festival. I am liaising with the Rev. Richard Ross of the Kington Baptist to help with the practicalities of staging our Exhibition of Miniatures in the church. |
Clare Conrad - Exhibition Curator and Displays
I am a ceramicist. I gained BA (hons) at UWE In 1987 and have exhibited widely since then. I moved to Kington in 2017 and was delighted to find so many artists working in the area. When Marches Makers invited me to join the committee to help with display, I was pleased to be a part of the group. |
Isobel Hutton - Coordinator for the Old Police Station
I have co-ordinated exhibitions at The Old Police Station for several years and have always enjoyed this venue. I used to work for the Health Service but have always painted throughout my career and was able to focus on different art forms after I retired. Oil on canvas remains my favourite medium. I also enjoy printmaking. More info and contact details here. |
Kathryn Moore - Co-Coordinator for the Market Hall
As a new arrival to Kington, I am delighted to be part of a most proactive team of artists and makers celebrating the wealth of creativity in the area. I am a landscape painter working in mixed media, and also work in spinning and weaving. My role within the Marches Makers Festival is to assist organising demonstrations and workshops in the market hall and other venues in Kington. |
Helen Smith - Web Site and Social Media
Having spent many years as a software tester and technical author, writing help systems and computer manuals, I now like to create and maintain websites just for fun! Time away from the computer is when I play with textiles and my biggest love at the moment is tapestry weaving… |
