Marches Makers Festival 2026
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our sixth Marches Makers Festival.
Since its beginnings in 2018 this event has held at its core the championing of the wealth of creative talent in this
corner of the Welsh Marches. Over the years the festival has grown into an event which honours the
act of making in a wider sense. Not only in terms of art and craft, but also the making of
music, the crafting of words, the creation of drama.
This year we invite you to see exhibitions of excellence, to visit artists in their studios,
to take in a drama production, and to hear live music.
‘Folk’ is the theme that will link the community offerings this year.
Until the end of November, we invite submissions from artists and craftspeople, living and working within 20 miles of Kington, for the curated exhibition in St Mary's Church.
We also invite groups and individuals to curate independent exhibitions in venues within 2 miles of the town centre.
If you wish to take part, please contact us.
We all have stories to tell, and art is a powerful instrument through which we can do so.
We invite you to come, see what we have made, and do some making of your own.

We are grateful to Kington Town Council, Kington Chamber of Trade, Bob Widdowson and our
fantastic team of dedicated volunteers for their support
