All my life long, the play of light through leaves has provided solace, offered peace, and given reassurance that somewhere, beyond, lies an order more enduring, more intelligent and more nurturing, to which we may resort.
It is this awareness that I attempt, through my Lampshades, to bring indoors - shielding our eyes from the harshness of electric light, bringing the shapes and vibrancy from Garden, Hedgerow, Field and Woodland, into our homes and workplaces.
Reminding us that there is always an escape from our small concerns, back to our origins, out to the dreaming world of the Wild, and the Dance of Life that is our source.
