Marches Makers Festival Artist 2021
Denise Fordyce
After moving to Herefordshire in the 1980s I studied painting, printmaking and photography at Hereford College of Art, later joining the printmaking group at Sidney Nolan Trust near Presteigne.
I use drawing and photography as a basis for both painting and printmaking, often combining different media. I love the energy and excitement not only of dramatic landscapes such as the Pembrokeshire coast - one of my favourite places - but also steam engines and farm machinery. My abstract paintings refer to the rhythmic sounds, speed and light qualities of these subjects.
