Marches Makers Festival Artist 2019
Debbie Todd
My printmaking work covers lino cut, drypoint etching, collagraph and carborundum. I am an illustrator turned printmaker.
My first taste of printmaking introduced me to the rich velvety depths of tone and colour achieved by the captured ink and immediately printmaking became my passion.
I am at my happiest when printmaking.
The differing printmaking techniques and their varied combinations provide me with endless new possibilities to explore.
Printmaking is challenging as there are so many stages at which a print can fail. The anticipation of the reveal of a hand-pulled print can be exhilarating, thrilling or frustrating and disheartening, but to me the process is addictive, and no matter how disappointing the result I always learn something new, which inspires me to continue.
