Always passionate about books, with a background in book publishing, Ellie's creativity is sparked by the possibilities of artistic expression through hand-making books, and the many techniques for creating content.
Much of her work aims to capture the joy of a moment in time and place, and her books in the Three of a Kind exhibition are composed of steam prints from botanical materials and metals, and feature elements of collage, natural materials or mixed media to create unique pieces.
Ellie is also endlessly fascinated by unusual book structures, often pushing the boundaries of what a book can be. Her installation “Ceci n'est pas une voiture... c'est un art de vivre... (ou livre?)” is a rope-bound book made from Citroën 2cv car doors. “Ceci” can be seen on display in the Market Hall during the festival.
