Marches Makers Festival Artist 2019
James Burnett-Stuart
I trained on the Harrow Studio Pottery course 1986-88. Since then I have had workshops in London and for the last ten years outside Kington. I have sold and exhibited in shops and galleries throughout the UK, including The Scottish Gallery, The Conran Shop, Designers Guild, Oriel Myrddin, Charleston Farmhouse.
I am interested in domestic pottery and particularly value its quiet and benign influence in daily life. I also enjoy painting both in the studio and outside. Most recently I have started making figures in clay. It’s good sometimes to be freed from the constraints of function and craftsmanship.
