Lockdown Book Shop
48 High Street, HR5 3BJ
Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sunday 11am to 3pm and Monday 10am to 4pm
Lockdown Books is an exciting new shop in Kington High Street stocking a range of titles covering politics, poetry, social and green issues, feminism and philosophy. They also have books based on, or set in, the local area and have a focus on Anglo-Welsh writing. Landscape and nature are also key themes. The owner, David Mullin, takes pride in selecting interesting titles which you might not have seen before.
Although this is not a gallery, one wall features a small amount of art, including David's archeologically inspired slip work ceramics and a few abstract landscape paintings by local artist Siwan Gillick. Siwan and Dave won the h.Art Emerging Artist bursary in 2018 and often show their work together. The art changes on a regular basis and sometimes features work by other artists.
