Marches Makers Festival Artist 2019
Marcus Henke

I am a Blacksmith who has been living and working in Kington for the past 25 years.  I originally studied sculpture at Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic 1976 to 1979. In 1993 I moved to Kington and set up Kington Forge, specialising in decorative ironwork.

In more recent years I decided to return more to my original calling and produce sculpture, alongside the ironwork.

The sculptures are figurative and mostly at present of animals. The work can be viewed at the Forge and also at Erwood Station Gallery.

My work also features  in private collections across the UK and overseas.
