I make pots for eating and drinking, out of earthenware clay. I like the role pottery plays in the household, giving quiet pleasure, and even prompting contemplation.
The qualities I admire in pottery are warmth, sensuousness, softness, depth, earthiness. At my studio, which is in an ancient barn next to where I live, you will see the full range of my work, from figurative sculptures to big bowls, platters, jugs and mugs. Plus there will be seconds, remainders and experiments on sale. |
