My abstract works use natural earth pigments and mixed media, including liquid graphite, slate dust and charcoal. Themes such as, Traces, Earth Works and Landmarks, are inspired by fragments of the landscape and geological features. Layers of gesso, pigment, clay etc are applied to plywood panels or canvas. Surfaces are layered, revealing colours beneath the surface by scraping, rubbing and sanding.
