Marches Makers Festival Artist 2022
Rachael Blakeway
Exhibiting at Made in the Marches Gallery
I am a Recycling/Upcycling artist who enjoys the challenge of creating quirky 3D pictures out of everyday throw away materials and objects.
Each piece has a story or a sense of history of where its mediums origins began. Paper pulp is made from well read newspapers, tin flowers are made from favourite fizzy drink cans and an odd sparkly bead may have belonged to a special party necklace.
My pictures are often humorous and have a hint of nostalgia which the viewer can relate to. Similar to Cinderella, rags are turned to riches and my pictures get to go to the ball!
