A fun workshop exploring surface textures pressed into clay and manipulated into a vase or vessel. No prior experience necessary. (I will bring along my collection of buttons and fastenings and fabric.) Using found objects, stamps, carving and moulds to create unique designs (easy to do for beginners and can be a lovely design challenge for intermediate clay workers) we will mould into functional cylinders to make lovely vases. With additional time buttons can be made and/or tiles for spoon rests. Clay will be provided, and one vessel can be bisque fired and picked up a month later from Made in the Marches Gallery. Requirements: An apron and a small towel. Bring along snippets of textured fabric, mark making tools such as icing/pastry tools, small found objects such as lids which can be pressed into clay to make your own unique design. |
